Eindelijk kan ik weer beginnen met heel positief nieuws. 

Zoals in mijn vorige blog geschreven ben ik donderdag gestopt met het trial medicijn pacritinib omdat het bij mij onvoldoende werkte. Daar voor in de plaats direct vrijdag begonnen met prednison (30 mg) en een lichte chemo. En echt onvoorstelbaar, zaterdag voelde ik me zo ontzettend veel beter! Niet te geloven dat 2 pillen van prednison zo’n verschil kunnen maken.
Blijheid rondom me heen natuurlijk. Het was ook heel spannend. Kilo per week afvallen, alleen maar op bank of bed liggen, zwakker en zwakker worden, om de haverklap in slaap vallen en dat allemaal terwijl je weet dat er nog geen oplossing is gevonden. 
En dan ineens zo’n ommekeer. Ik heb meer energie, kom weer een beetje buiten en vooral, ik eet weer veel beter. De lijn omhoog is gevonden!
Natuurlijk ben ik heel moe, mijn bloedwaardes zijn heel slecht en worden niet beter, maar ik ga vooruit en niet meer achteruit.

De lichte chemo moet mijn weerstand (witte bloedlichaampjes/leucocyten) verlagen. Die is nu 43 en moet tussen de 4 en 10 zitten. Maar de chemo zal ook het Hb en de plaatjes verlagen en die zijn al te laag! 

Komende donderdag de afsluiting van de trial met een MRI, vragenlijst en bloedprikken. Dan kunnen we gelijk zien of ik een bloedtransfusie moet krijgen omdat het Hb onder de 5 komt, of dat de plaatjes onder een gevaarlijk minimum niveau komen waardoor ik bloedingen kan krijgen. 

Ondertussen zijn we heel blij en opgelucht dat het met mij weer de goede kant op gaat. Het is 
echt niet prettig (ahum) als je denkt dat de komende weken de laatste van je leven zijn omdat er geen opties meer over zijn…… 
Heel apart voor mij trouwens om deze voorgaande zin neer te zetten. Er zijn vele lezers van dit blog, en jullie kennen allen inmiddels mijn positieve karakter. Toch ben ik ook een realist en moet je wel alternatieven hebben om positief te kunnen blijven. Gelukkig ziet het er nu weer weer beter uit!
