Met veel plezier kijk ik terug op de afgelopen week. Dinsdag nog naar het ziekenhuis geweest voor een bloedtransfusie omdat mijn Hb. weer onder de 5 was gezakt. Kost een uur of 4 voordat de 2 zakken bloed erin zitten, en met een beetje geluk doe ik er meer dan 2 weken mee.
Ik ben nu 9 weken thuis en eindelijk voel ik wat kracht terug komen in mijn benen. Uit bed komen, lopen achter de rollator, de trap op en af, het gaat allemaal wat soepeler dan de weken hiervoor. Het is schitterend nazomer weer en we genieten volop. Ik moet wel erg oppassen in de zon omdat de zon kan zorgen voor afstotingsverschijnselen. Altijd smeren met factor 30-50 en een petje op bij zon. In ieder geval het 1e jaar.
Het anti-afstotingsmedicijn zijn we verder aan het afbouwen. Ik zit nu op 2*1 ml. per dag (was 2*4,5). Het is een heel zwaar medicijn (Neoral) met veel bijverschijnselen. Ik voel me door het afbouwen dan ook steeds beter. Iets meer energie, en ik kan nu een paar passen los lopen zonder rollator.
Afgelopen zaterdag met de rolstoel naar de burendag op het dorp geweest. Gezellig om er weer eens uit te zijn en zoveel bekenden te spreken.
Vergeet ik bijna het beste nieuws van de week met jullie te delen!
Woensdag kreeg ik een mailtje van mijn hematoloog met de definitieve bevestiging dat mijn beenmerg kankervrij is en dat de stamcellen goed aan het werk zijn.
Vanaf vandaag zullen we niet iedere maandag meer op het blog schrijven. Ga er maar vanuit dat de stijgende lijn wordt voortgezet. Mochten zich bijzondere veranderingen voordoen dan zullen wij dit uiteraard hier met jullie delen.

I know that the gray is something that I dread too. I have noticed it more the older I get. Basking in a bar of sunshine brings happiness to me, just like it brings happiness to my dog. I don’t really think I have SAD, but boy when the sun shines after days (or weeks!) without it, I feel a weight lift off my shoulders. I guess I try and go with the season…hot chocolate…a heavy afghan…a fire in the fireplace…a good book. I mostly work, however, ah…time to read a book? When will that be? I guess indulging in fantasy should be on that list as well.

Although, the number of Visas issued to such category is increased recently, still many others are denied Visa. I will vote on Election Day, and have carefully researched (and spoken to, where possible) each candidate for whom I will vote. As far as I have been able to determine I will not be voting for any candidate who is pro-abortion and/or pro-homosexual rights. Other issues are important to me as a citizen, but those two are my go-to issues when deciding how to vote in an election.

I was using the new lenovo Tablet 1838 running Honeycomb, the response is descent but its nothing compared to apple, I love android but this is a big let down, they are so many versions into this and this should have been fixed by now. The Honeycomb on the Lenovo worked “fine” but its no match for apples crisp movements. Just destroys the whole OS and they need to address this.
