Vooruitgang

Dolf gaat vooruit!! Zijn spierkracht lijkt nu toch toe te nemen. Het lukt nu om de ene dag de trap naar boven op te lopen, en de dag erna weer naar beneden!
Een grote stap! Dit betekent dat hij ook weer eens in zijn eigen bed heeft kunnen slapen en nu eindelijk weer onder de douche kan.

Hij heeft iets meer energie, kan alles wat langer volhouden. Er is zowaar weer eens visite geweest, en Dolf hield het best lang vol (bijna 2 uur!). Vreemd (en ook wel een beetje triest) hoe “normale” gebeurtenissen opeens heel bijzonder zijn.

Grappig is wel, hoe je normale dingen toch ook verleert. Voorbeeld? Ik, Marjolein, deel de koffie uit, neem zelf een koekje en bied de visite niets aan. Zo gewend dat ik de enige ben, die iets neemt (Dolf was er heel lang te misselijk voor).  En bezoek hebben we nog bijna niet gehad, omdat Dolf er te moe voor was.

We gaan soms een rondje met de rolstoel, met monumentendag zijn we even naar het dorp gewandeld. Van het lekkere nazomerweer genieten en je komt nog eens iemand tegen voor een praatje.

Follow-up stamceltransplantatie

Er zijn 4 maanden verstreken, sinds Dolf de donor-stamcellen heeft gekregen.

We hebben weer een gesprek gehad, nu met de follow-up-verpleegkundige SCT. Het ging over het ziekteproces, onze huidige situatie (redden we het praktisch/emotioneel/sociaal?).  En het belangrijkste: de toekomst. De vooruitzichten zijn goed. Het bloed (geen leukemie-cellen!) ziet er goed uit en de bloedaanmaak is ook goed op gang gekomen.

Het risico op omgekeerde afstoting is het eerste jaar het grootste. Het kan daarna altijd nog optreden, maar in het tweede jaar na de SCT is het risico nog maar 3%.
Vooral zonlicht is riskant, want dat kan de afstotingsverschijnselen oproepen. Dolf mag niet meer onbeschermd  in de zon (dus insmeren met zonnebrandmiddel met minstens factor 30). Daarom laten we baard en haren maar wat langer dan wat gebruikelijk was bij Dolf, als extra bescherming tegen de zon.

Bloed

Rode bloedlichaampjes leven circa 100 dagen. Bij een gezond lichaam sterft een rode bloedcel en het ijzer uit die cel wordt dan weer in een nieuwe cel gebruikt. IJzer verlaat het lichaam dus nooit.
Door de vele bloedtransfusies die Dolf nodig heeft (gehad), is er nu een hoge dosis ijzer in zijn lichaam, wat “ijzerstapeling” wordt genoemd. Het teveel aan ijzer wordt opgeslagen in de weefsels, wat met name hart en leverproblemen zou kunnen geven. Hier is wel iets tegen te doen, maar dat kan pas in een later stadium. Eerst moet nu de bloedaanmaak, en in het bijzonder de aanmaak van de rode bloedlichaampjes helemaal op orde zijn.

De waarde van de reticulocyten (jonge rode bloedcellen) is 8, dat gaat de goede kant op (normaal is 25).

Over ongeveer een week is de uitslag bekend van de verhouding patiënt – donorcellen in het bloed. 

Verdere controles

Hart ok, longen ok (beluisterd)
Milt en lever ok qua grootte (gevoeld)

Lage weerstand

Dolf’s weerstand blijft nog laag. Dolf zal ieder jaar de griepprik moeten krijgen. Ook dit jaar weer moeten alle in “hetzelfde huis levende” gezinsleden ook een griepprik halen.
Eind mei 2015 zal bekeken worden, of Dolf sterk genoeg is om het vaccinatie programma opnieuw te doorlopen. Voor alle (kinder-) ziekten moet hij opnieuw ingeënt worden.  

Het is dus nog steeds belangrijk bij Dolf uit de buurt te blijven, als je niet fit bent.

Neuropathie

Dolf heeft last van tintelingen in tenen en voeten. Dat zijn kleine zenuwbeschadigingen, die wel vaker ontstaan tijdens langer verblijf op de intensive care. Het kan overgaan. Vaak zijn de klachten erger bij warmte (tips: voeten onder je dekbed uit laten steken/katoenen of wollen sokken dragen, die ruim zitten.)

Deze week zal er nog een beenmergpunctie worden uitgevoerd.

Quelques uns sont de plus en plus débordés par leur problèmes en viellissant et d’autre les gèrent de mieux en mieux. Quelqu’un qui gère bien tout les petits problèmes ne sera surement pas lourd pour son partenaire même en étant enseveli de problèmes.
