Gisteravond jammer genoeg weer erge hoofdpijn, maar dankzij de paracetamol, het slaapmiddel en de Maxalt is Dolf snel in slaap gevallen. ’s Ochtends om 6.00 uur (bij de controles) was de hoofdpijn weg.
Nu een plaatsje bij het raam, iets meer uitzicht. “Achter glas, in het zonnetje, met een waterijsje, lijkt het net vakantie,” sms-t Marjolein naar Dolf’s zus die een paar dagen naar Italië is. Met een beetje fantasie lijken sommige gedeelten van het UMC op Center Parcs, terrasjes, palmbomen…
Nog even alleen op de kamer. Er is nog geen nieuwe patiënt geplaatst.
Wat een feestje: aardappelpuree met jus en appelmoes!
Over 4 weken moet Dolf terugkomen bij de plastisch chirurg. De wonden moeten goed controleerd worden. Bij een grote borstwond kan het gebeuren, dat de huid gaat trekken, waardoor je je schouders teveel naar voren gaat trekken. Dit kan (moet) gecorrigeerd worden door de plastisch chirurg.
De hematoloog is ook langs geweest. Als Dolf naar Weddestein gaat, zal toch ook regelmatig zijn bloed nog gecontroleerd moeten worden met het oog op de myelo fybrose (bloedwaardes, leukemiecellen). Daar zullen afspraken over gemaakt worden met Weddestein.
Het was een goede dag voor Dolf.
wat een boel belevenissen weer. Voor ons hectische leven lijkt het weinig, waar het voor Dolf (en c.s.) een hoogtepunt blijkt.
Fijn om al die stapjes te kunnen teruglezen en wat prettig dat het blog ook zo gevolgd en bijgehouden wordt!
Blijf zo doorgaan Dolf, dan kom je stukje bij beetje weer in de richting waar je heen wilt! Eerst Woerden en aansterken, dan in Linschoten aansterken. En dan weer gaan voorbereiden op het UMCU… Houdt moed, dan komt het vast goed!

Alweer ruim 5 weken verder. Achteraf lijkt de tijd erg snel te gaan maar als je in een situatie zit als die van jou/jullie kruipt hij voorbij. Fijn dat het nog steeds stapje voor stapje vooruit gaat. De hoofdpijn zou je misschien kunnen verklaren door het feit dat douchen op de manier waarop je nu moet ondergaan echt heel erg vermoeiend en inspannend is. Ik kan me zelf nog wel herinneren dat ik ook regelmatig erge hoofdpijn kreeg een aantal uur later en ik ben niet gevoelig voor hoofdpijnen zoals jij lieve Dolf.
Ik hoop dat het met slikken iets beter gaat.[nee ik hoop natuurlijk veeeeel beter gaat maar ja ook dit moet jammer genoeg met kleine stapjes vooruit] En dat de wonden op je benen ook minder pijnlijk zijn.

Let me give that some thought. It IS different … and yet, I’m always surprised that certain issues that seem important to me right away were never discussed in the prior therapy. If someone has been in therapy, I’ll often start off by asking a lot of questions about what came up in the prior treatment, the primary issues, why it came to an end, etc.

In the Philadelphia area the snow pileup and lingering unplowed streets have led to a lot of grumblings in everyday converstion…the only nice part of this seems to be a sense of camaraderie amoungst strangers from the shared challenge of getting around…even if the sense of community comes in the form of complaining.
